A flower a day for January ....

Explored #183 (8/13/2013, but no longer in the day's top 500). Thanks! Since I didn't want to brave the weather last August 10, my 366 Snaps shots were taken inside the house. Several of 'em were of the rain on various windows.... ========= Actually, I had an idea for a daily photo: I'd shoot a pic of Joan's CD collection. This turned out to be surprisingly difficult, as poor light and the small room worked against me. The bigger problem was the minimum focus distance for the lens, which forced me to lean against the far wall of the room. The smaller problem was that exposures were in the quarter-second range. I worked at improving the light. I got serious about steadying the camera. I tried several ways to frame the picture. I shot several dozen photographs. Eventually I made a capture I was willing to share. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . All afternoon I was shooting pix of birds at feeders, using both Nikons. I'm pretty sure we never saw any sunshine...

It didn't rain a lot last spring, which was generally good for my photography but not so good for my neighbors' crops. Before our house moved to Mulliken, it lived in Grand Ledge. Where the car wash lives now.... Wandered into Grand Ledge last February 7 to get a haircut. While I was there, I stopped to get the car cleaned. I'd try this again on April 11 , and post that effort to 366 Snaps . ========== By the seventh I had (finally) gotten comfortable the Bionic's camera--the day's pix were interesting, properly exposed, in focus, and generally sharp. I tried a few early-morning shots from the corner store's parking lot, took some odd and experimental pix of my car, and made an effort to capture some wide-open farm space. Not a bad day's set. While I was out I stopped for breakfast at Bob Evans.
