In our basement.

This is a bit misleading, as the sunlight's reflecting off a different bike's wheel. But I rather like the effect.

It snowed on Leap Day, so we wandered into McLain Cycle (there's a story there, but for some other day). Figured we'd buy Joan some cool-weather clothes, and maybe a jersey or something for me. Joan noticed the trainers, all in a row down the edge of the shop, and said (correctly) that I needed one of those. So we bought one. I consider it my birthday present to myself. Anyway, I actually needed this last November. But I've been trying to make up for lost time over the past two weeks. Feels kinda wimpy; I used to be locally famous for riding in the snow.

The old Traverse City Asylum--now called The Village at Grand Traverse Commons--is a fascinating place. Building 50 was the main building, a massive structure that's being reclaimed for housing and businesses. The basement's just full of little shops.
