A year ago I spent nearly an hour wandering the yard in quest of a 366 Snaps photo, mostly in macro mode. This was the best of those. ========== In mid-afternoon we found one of the neighborhood cats perched on our pedestal feeder. No choice: I had to get his pic. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . Number of project photos taken: 55 Title of " roll :" Around the Yard Other photos taken on 10/14/2012: The Pine Siskins had arrived, so I tried to get pictures using the Nikon 1. Those weren't particularly good.

The previous day's excellent light was still with us a year ago, so I celebrated in the yard. The Butterfly Weed's flyaway seeds are always tempting to photograph, but difficult to photograph--and to process--well. I tried several approaches to processing the photo above before selecting this version. Not bad for what amounts to a toy camera. ========== I posted a shot of Joan's tomatoes to 366 Snaps ; that shot's below.
