Grey Kitty at Rest

We're still not too sure what our relationship with this kitten is. But it's pretty clear that s/he's getting comfortable with us. I perhaps oughta provide a little context. Our across-the-street neighbor's long been feeding the unattached cats in our neighborhood. But she's moved away, and those cats are looking for alternative sources of food. The big cats can mostly fend for themselves, but the kittens really don't know how to go about that. This one eats bird seed. Joan's decided it deserves better food than that, so she's been taking out a bowl of food when the cat visits. Kitty seems to find the arrangement satisfactory.

Concluding: So I switched lenses again, this time to the Nikon 80-200 mm I use all the time (I called it "my best piece of glass" a few weeks back). And captured this photo, which I think quite fine. Then I tried to sneak outside and get a picture from another angle. The bird fled.... Those ruffled feathers demonstrate why we call the area between the house and the garage "the wind tunnel." He was occasionally fighting for balance.
