A few weeks back I posted a photo of six pairs of shoes, hanging from the power line south of town.
Last week's wind storm moved 'em around a bit....

Everywhere I go I find the Grand River. Or something.

On the telephone pole in our front yard. Wasn't so long ago that linesmen used spiked boots to climb these poles; I suspect this is damage from such an occasion.
Nowadays they use cherry pickers to reach the lines. Can't say I blame 'em.

Lansing's Board of Water and Light's Erickson Power Plant in Delta Township, Michigan; photo taken across the pond where I work.
On cold, clear, days, Erickson's ability to churn out steam has always been pretty impressive.

Memorial Day weekend, 1990, from the deck of Boblo boat St. Clair . Taken on the annual river outing of the Marine Historical Society of Detroit . My memory says the boat at the coal dock was James Barker , but I consider that unreliable.
I'm gonna be paying for my fast film habit forever....

Joan: So what you got planned for today?
Joel: Well, there's this dam north of Portland. You'll be surprised.
This dam is fifteen miles due north from our house (nearer Lyons than Portland, just for the record). Somehow I lived in Mulliken for over two decades before I discovered it. 'Twas certainly worth the trip, and one of my best 366 Snaps efforts.
The dam, built in 1907, is part of the Consumers Energy power grid which powers much of lower Michigan.
A few months later we'd be back, watching the water cascade through those gates with the river at flood stage .

Eventually you go stir crazy.
Sundays I generally buy my RC Cola in Sunfield, since Marco's opens earlier than Mulliken's Thriftway. Last August 26 I headed south from Sunfield and returned to Mulliken on back roads. For the next few months my 366 Snaps photographs were generally images caught on the local country roads; I'd grown weary of flowers and birds.
This photo's quality's compromised by haze, and because I'd pointed the lens toward the sun.

I originally titled the daily photo "Horse Farm," which drew a response from WindsorDi complaining about the lack of horses. And while it's true there were no horses, the title was accurate; the Bonleys raise horses, and their farm looks like no other in the neighborhood. But I changed the title to "Bonley Farm."
Regardless, I was real pleased with the way the Bonley Farm photograph captured depth in their back 40.
I understand why Di's left Flickr, but I miss her.
