Old Mission Lighthouse on February 27, 2005. Notice that the snow's high enough to mostly hide the ugly fence they've built around the yard. I don't blame the folks for building the fence; the building's a private residence in the midst of a public park. But it's such an unattractive fence that I feel obliged to remark it....

A castle in Lake Michigan . Shepler/Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association Lighthouse Cruise 6/16/2014. This light's been abandoned for over a century, having been succeeded by the White Shoal and Grays Reef lights. Due to the dangerously shallow water near this light, the Shepler cruise is unable to approach the light closely.

Door County, Wisconsin; Lake Michigan.

This light is at the Green Bay end of the Sturgeon Bay channel which divides Wisconsin's Door County. This was the last manned lighthouse on the Great Lakes. The location is not particularly well-marked, probably because its grounds are not open to the public.
