Oreo, on My Jacket, on the Bed

18 Nov 2014 2 3 347
Had something else to do so I dumped my coat and scarf on the bed. When I came back to put 'em away I found Oreo'd turned them into a kitty bed.

Daylilies

Despite my envy of MSU's garden, my daylilies aren't really doing so badly.... A few black-eyed susans sneaked in. As did that brass butterfly.

Taffy

09 Nov 2012 99
I mentioned a few weeks back that Joan had switched the cats' beds and sown confusion. To that point, Taffy'd been sleeping in a tiny bed on an otherwise-abandoned foot stool. Taffy's a fairly large cat, so we'd assumed she'd chosen the small bed because its location was relatively easy to defend from her rather aggressive housemate. Turned out we were wrong: Taffy followed the small bed to its new, on-the-floor, location. Oreo, who'd previously slept most anywhere, took to sleeping in this bed, on the stool. Frankly, this wasn't the expected outcome. Six weeks later, things have settled down a bit; both cats use both beds, according to some system we humans haven't decoded. Here's Taffy on the foot stool, hanging out of the larger bed.

Oreo & the Hat

For some reason, Oreo needed to put Joan's hat in her bed. Then she joined it....

Found amongst some old photographs. Likely it dates from 1996 or thereabouts.

BJ

Frankly, I've grown weary of Veterans Day photos featuring graveyards. So here's a Vietnam snap. Sergeant Burnis Johnson, of Muskegon (Heights?), Michigan, at rest in the former Ward 2 at the Pleiku Army Hospital (71st Evac), which served us as a Signal Corps barracks. Sometime in 1971. BJ always seemed like the most capable, sanest, and calmest, member of our little detachment. Can't find anyone I recognize as BJ in a quick web search, though I'd not be surprised if another SGT Burnis Johnson (who seems to be serving overseas), also a Michigan native, is a relative. Another, similar, photo I posted several years ago. It has a bit of background information.

Taffy, repeated

24 Apr 2013 1 91
It seems that when I set out to shoot a photograph of one of the cats, I only shoot photographs of that cat . A year ago today I took 9 pix of Taffy, and no other photographs whatever. Since this is easily the best of the lot, it returns today. ========== Joan switched the cat beds around in late September. On October 1 the cats hadn't quite sorted things out , but nowadays Taffy routinely sleeps in the larger bed, which Joan put where this bed had been. She fits better there. Oreo still sleeps almost anywhere. Taf's more fussy. ========== This photograph is reposted photo from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps . ER

Last February 19: Joan's mom called, reported she was ill, and asked for a ride to the local medical clinic. The clinic staff talked with her for a few minutes, then called an ambulance. Thelma spent 32 hours in the emergency room, under observation. A long day. The ER's not designed for overnight stays, but the hospital was full. The next day they concluded she was all right, and sent her home. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps .
