Farm Pano

Just west of Woodland, Michigan. Three photos stitched together; then I chopped off half the rightmost pic.

The View from the Tower

10 Aug 2014 2 190
Click here for a BIGGER version . At the Maple River State Game Area, north of St. Johns, Michigan. The SGA is a joint endeavor between the State's Department of Natural Resources and Michigan Ducks Unlimited. We saw lots of birds, but few up close. The photo's stitched together from six smaller photographs. The visible distortions are partly the software and partly the wide angle lens I was using.

East Bay in Winter

Finally, this morning as we left for home, the weather started to clear up. Here's my last look at the East Bay from our hotel room's balcony. This pic is a bit misleading, as the ice shelf only extends a few hundred feet into the bay this year. And the bent beach is a combination of the short focal length and the processing method. Two photos, stiched together with Calico, then cleaned up a bit in Photoshop Elements. The sharpness leaves a little to be desired, here.

Otto Road Panorama

Near Potterville, Michigan. This is outside Roxand Township, but not far outside so I'm including it in my Mulliken group. I know. You really don't care....

Wacotah Mine

15 Nov 2005 101
Better large. Mountain Iron, Minnesota, has a viewing tower which overlooks the Mountain Iron, Minnesota Taconite (MinnTac), and Wacotah mines. Mountain Iron was the original Mesabi Range mine. MinnTac was perhaps the last great mine on The Range. Wacotah, as you can see, has become a rather pretty lake. And there's an amazing amount of gear in this picture. Shot August, 1992, with a panoramic point-n-shoot.
