Mulliken Thriftway

Our town's store changed hands a year or so ago, and now looks quite different both inside and out . Still pretty ugly, though.

Thriftway

Shot while I was buying gas the other day. Not pretty, but certainly colorful. And the only grocery store within a five mile radius of my house. You can't see it in the picture, but there's an excellent garden on the edge of the parking lot. Since this store's on the highway (M-43), it's likely the landmark folks think of when Mulliken comes to mind. Unless they think of Farmer's Tavern, of course. Swede's, in the background, is the place to eat breakfast in Mulliken.

This one turned out better than I expected.... I knew we'd be heading back to the hospital on February 20th, so I hurried. Shot some rapid-fire sun-and-shadow pics in the house and through the windows, and got a few photos on my trip to Mulliken Thriftway. Under the circumstances the set came out well. ========== Daily 366 Snaps pic: There are a half-dozen or so houses at the south edge of Mulliken on M-43. Most began as small shelters and grew haphazardly--except for the large Italianate place I used for the daily photo. That house, I think, is the largest home in the community. I thought for a while I'd use these interesting structures for a 366-dailies sub-project, but never completed it. One house showed up as my March 3 project photo, and you'll see one or two more amongst the outtakes. Not sure why I lost this thread. ========== This photograph is an outtake from my 2012 photo-a-day project, 366 Snaps .
