My 80-200 mm lens is neither my favorite nor my most useful, but it's got the best specs of the glass in my bag. Whatever: It's a delightful toy. This photograph seems to recommend it. [Revised 8/5/12 to clarify the comment]

Or Hibiscus, or Althea. When I planted this bush, now many years ago, I was probably expecting a different flower. But I've been pleased with these.

WindsorDi's comment on yesterday's photo noted that her "Rose of Sharron" looked like my "Hibiscus." I call mine by both names.... In my heart, though, a Rose of Sharon (still another spelling) looks like these flowers--which are also Hibiscus, as it happens.
