Gritzner was a venerable and highly regarded manufacturer of sewing machines in Durlach, Baden, Germany. At the peak of production the factory turned out 3000 machines a day.

This sign is at the corner of Liliova and Karlova in Prague. The Renaissance building is believed to have housed the first coffee house in Prague. The motif of the Golden Snake dates from the latter half of the 18th Century. The building now houses a cafe-restaurant and jewellers.
