Chronicle Of Vital Individual Distancing, day 24. A very old and substantial stile in the Cheshire countryside. It must have been well used and important in the past, to merit the lead sheeting on the upright posts. Presumably this would have protected the wood from the rain and also protected users’ hands from splinters.
