At the centre of the Cemetery lies a multi-confessional chapel. Behind its altar, there is a Latin cross and a star of David, as well as symbols meant to represent all other religions. The Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial in Colleville sur Mer, Normandy.

The broken crockery ('ceramic pieces' is the nicer term used on site) that decorates this chapel inside and outside was donated by Wedgwood potteries and also by local people and dignitaries. The Chapel was started in the early 20th Century by Brother Déodat, a member of a religious order. He planned to create a miniature version of the grotto and basilica at Lourdes, the Rosary Basilica. It has been said to be the smallest functioning chapel in Europe, if not the world, and it is believed to be the world's smallest consecrated church. It holds about 8 people.
