We named this Jackdaw 'Long John Silver' as he only had one leg. He came to expect the food we put out, and developed a trick of getting into the bird feeder despite his disability.

We named this Jackdaw 'Long John Silver' as he only had one leg. He came to expect the food we put out, and developed a trick of getting into the bird feeder despite his disability.

Chronicle Of Vital Individual Distancing, day 69. Look this way, then that way … check that no-one will see where the nest is being built! DOF too shallow, ISO too high. Pity. No time to alter the settings: the bird suddenly appeared, and then was gone.

Chronicle Of Vital Individual Distancing, day 31. Jackdaw says: “There seems to be an invisible force field between me and my food!” DNG exposed obliquely through kitchen window. Neighbour moved the feeder the next day, so this is unrepeatable.
