On June 5-8, 2017, we participated in the Native Orchid Conference symposium (the 16th annual symposium) in Scanterbury, Manitoba, Canada. We had two days of presentations and two days of field trips, one of which took us to Brokenhead Wetland Reserve. Here is a sample of all of the wildflowers and orchids we saw at this site.

Besides Cypripedium reginae , the most frequent orchid we saw on the Lomond River Trail was Corallorhiza maculata var. maculata or Spotted Corallroot orchid. These were locally abundant in some areas, and they provided us with some good photographic opportunities.
