On June 5-8, 2017, we participated in the Native Orchid Conference symposium (the 16th annual symposium) in Scanterbury, Manitoba, Canada. We had two days of presentations and two days of field trips, one of which took us to Brokenhead Wetland Reserve. Here is a sample of all of the wildflowers and orchids we saw at this site.

On June 5-8, 2017, we participated in the Native Orchid Conference symposium (the 16th annual symposium) in Scanterbury, Manitoba, Canada. The images in this upload were taken during the first day of our annual Native Orchid Conference symposium field trip. We began just outside of Gorham, New Hampshire (the site of the symposium) and spread south and west into the nearby country side. We saw four orchid species and numerous other wildflowers.

Diane, Paul, Walter, and I met at Pistolet Bay Provincial Park Campround where Diane and Paul took us to a special place for the rare, Northern Twayblade orchid. While there, we also found Bluntleaved orchid and Heartleaf orchid. The mosquitoes were out in force, but we hardly noticed them in the excitement of finding these orchids in bloom...

Diane, Paul, Walter, and I met at Pistolet Bay Provincial Park Campround where Diane and Paul took us to a special place for the rare, Northern Twayblade orchid.
