The two places we would visit on this day were Parc Boutte du Cap on Cape St. George, and Kippens Bog near Stephenville. Parc Boutte du Cap is noted for its towering cliffs, fierce winds, and Yellow Lady's-Slipper orchids in the thousands. Kippens Bog is a large but little-known bog in the village of Kippens, just to the west of Stephenville. It is known for the large number of multi-flowered Dragon's Mouth orchids. What a day we had photographing these beauties...

Orchids - Epipactis gigantea (Giant Stream Orchid)

The last of the Zion National Park images. We parked in the lot just before the 1-mile tunnel and took a narrow trail to a fabulous overlook. It was a nice hike to a great spot!
I knew this was an orchid, but since it was no longer in bloom, I had to think about just which one it was. The surrounding landscape was quite dry, but there was a cracked layer in this cliff face that was allowing water to seep through -- a perfect place for this orchid species...
