Western Brook Pond is definitely a neat tourist attraction. There are boat tours (which we did not take) that shuttle tourists up a natural fjord created by glaciers thousands of years ago. To reach the boat ramp, you must take a wonderful, 3 km (~1.8 mile) trail through deep spruce woods and over numerous large bogs. The trail is both gravel and wooden boardwalk, and provides splendid scenery. We even saw a female moose munching vegetation not far from the boardwalk.
