This is a historic street so I can't imagine it was ever renamed but the metal sign has been fixed over the top of an older painted one. I'm also wondering why the painted one was larger. Maybe it once read "To College Lane" which is a pedestrian only street just behind?

Little Green Street is a Georgian cobbled terrace on the borders of Kentish Town and Gospel Oak. The street is less than 7 feet wide but developers want to use it for truck access to an otherwise inaccessible piece of building land behind. Hopefully the credit crunch is on the side of the residents to prevent this madness.
