This old roller shutter and off licence sign were also revealed during the renovation of this shopfront in Marchmont St. The notice reads: "John Gilpin Licensed to sell beers, wines, spirits and sweets for consumption off the premises". I've never heard of anyone needing a licence to sell sweets?
