Jen Pedler's photos with the keyword: Borough of Holborn

I am puzzled by the obscured painted sign underneath the Shaftesbury Ave sign. It doesn't look as if it ever read Shaftesbury or Avenue. Any suggestions or ideas?

One of those streets that seems to have been renamed but the old name is still visible painted on the wall. And even the 'new' sign is pretty old now as there's no Borough of Holborn anymore and this is now Camden.
