Jenny McIntyre's photos with the keyword: hailstones

The hailstones were so big, but they were starting to melt. However on the coal bunker where I took these photos, the sun doesn't reach it, so they lasted the whole day.

The stones were quite a decent size really - I'm just glad I wasn't out there when they came down - they would have hurt!!

The coal bunker was completely covered by hailstones so it was easy to photograph them. This photo however, was of the hailstones on the ground.

You can make out the small flower at the bottom with the white hailstones on the grass

I only noticed it because I was looking outside to see the hailstones. This plant doesn't flower until July/August - what on earth was it doing flowering in the middle of a hailstorm?
