Just five days after a devastating snow storm that dropped 19" of heavy snow, daffodils push through the soil, determined to prove it really is spring.

I have quite a little army of spring flowers building up under the mulberry tree. The mulberry leaves don't emerge until nearly June, so it's a perfect spot for my early spring flowers. There are at least six types of daffodils, checkered lilies, squill, hyacinth, Muscari, and tulips. Unfortunately this spring the deer decided most of these plants made for a delightful buffet, so only about half actually bloomed.
