Permanent

I'm hoping to sell my house this summer, so I decided to make the water garden a little more permanent so I don't have to leave my little stock tank behind. crankyoldyankee.blogspot.com/2018/05/the-little-water-garden.html

A new resident in my water garden! I was wondering if another froggy would move in this summer. I don't know if this is true, but I feel like the little "pond" must be healthy if a frog wants to live in it.

And then there were two! A smaller frog, about a third the size of my big frog, has made the water garden home as well. The cats have been haunting the poor things, so I put out some broken pots as little protective huts for the frogs when they're out of the water. The smaller one immediately started using his, but the big frog seems to prefer being out in the open.

Oh, happy day! My little water garden is officially a tiny ecosystem! I discovered that a frog has found its way inside the fenced yard and made itself at home in my "pond". Always happy to have an extra fly deterrent on hand!

It reminds me of a sweet pea flower.

My latest project - a little water garden. This is a 30 gallon water tank I had purchased for the mules and discovered they preferred to play in it rather than drink from it. I don't need them slipping and breaking a leg, so instead of getting rid of it, I decided to add it to the back yard garden.

And there you have it, my latest project. Next year I will find enough flat rocks to encircle the edge and cover the lip. Inside the cage are my perennial sweet pea vines, outside on either side I added flag iris and daylily, and my clematis was moved to one side as well. Hoping it will look pretty spectacular next year!
