One of "our" crows making off with the remnants of a fish. We put out food for the crows all year long - those are the only birds we feed. Yeah, songbirds are pretty, but the crows are an excellent low cost alarm system! They constantly warn us if a predator (two or four legged) is on the property. We love our thieves!

I didn't even realize until I downloaded these photos that the skies were full of dragonflies. The heron just kept circling above our pasture, which I'd never seen before. Usually they just fly over. I think he was eating his fill of dragonflies!
