That's quite a scar along this deer's neck! Can't tell if it's from an altercation with another deer or perhaps barely escaping an automobile.

You can see the scar goes along the neck and up under the chin.

Much like my chances of getting anymore photos of them. The snow is melting and the deer can move easier through the woods, so they've been staying pretty far back from the road. It's also difficult to spot them against the brown of open ground. This is probably my last photo of the herd until next winter.

Confession time: all the deer I've been photographing are yarded up on the side of the road. They are there every morning & afternoon. Yes, they're wild, but I'm shooting the same animals day after day. I can't help it; come summer, I'll be lucky to even see a deer!
