This pair of common loons were fishing in a marshy area off Back Bay - I've never seen them come in this far back in the channel. Normally they stay out on the big lake. I wish I knew the secret to photographing them; I always seem to lose the detail with these birds.

Spotted this painted turtle crossing the parking lot at work - probably a female that was returning to the water after laying her eggs.
