Still loving the gravel base in the mule paddock! It's been a dream to shovel and keep clean so far. I think the mules appreciate a level area free of those terrible frozen ruts, too.

About 3 of the 5 yards spread; now for the mules to do their job and pack it in. As this area settles, I'll add the rest of the gravel in the low spots and around the edges.

Before I started spreading the gravel I scraped the muck and mud off the area and laid down some weed block to prevent the gravel from sinking into the ground over time.

Paddock maintenance! 5 yards of 3/8 minus, which is a combination of pea gravel and stone dust. After it's spread and settles, it should pack up nicely and provide a mud free, level area in the paddock for the mules.

I'm learning how to glaze windows! This was a broken pane in my barn; I ordered a new pane and Neil showed me how to set it in place with putty, called glazing. I think I did a pretty good job.

I couldn't pull the fence tight enough with my hands, so I devised a fence puller out of a length of copper pipe and some pieces of chain I found hanging around the barn. Hooked them up to Reputa and shazam! My fence is lookin' pretty tight now.

I replaced one of the 4 foot gates with a 10 foot gate and since it was so long, I wound up having to keep the gates set back in their original spot. If I had moved them forward, they wouldn't swing in toward the pasture because of a small incline in the land, and it would swing into the road the other way.

This goober rock was about 3 feet down in the hole - I could barely reach it with my short arms! I did manage to get a rope around it and pulled it up that way.

I am the Mulching Queen. Every couple days I run out with my lawn mower and vigorously mow down the piles of dead leaves that blow into my yard.
