If I look hard enough, I can see the new barn...

The big pine is down along with some smaller nuisance trees. Looking good so far!

One nasty cherry tree down! The smaller remaining tree is a chestnut, which my mom wanted to save.

Well, not everything, but a good start will be getting rid of the two massive pines and cherry that have established themselves in the pasture.

This was the barn for the horses our family had over the years. It's not a good site for the barn as it floods in the spring, and it's not in the best shape anymore. My plan is to have this torn down at some point, but for now it's housing all my tools and garden stuff. In the meantime, the flanking cherry trees need to come down! There is a small chestnut tree on the far side that will remain.

This is the spot where I hope to have my barn built. I was concerned about the overgrown pines and some less than desirable trees (cherry, oak, and standing dead wood), so I hired a local company to do some cutting.

The goal is to move the fence out to widen the grazing space.

Some crazy weather today; we were under a tornado warning for part of the night. Luckily, none formed. We don't get tornadoes often in the northeast, but they do happen.
