The snake is a reptile that is often associated with evil, death and darkness, as it is considered a mysterious, treacherous and poisonous animal. However, it is a very rich symbol in different cultures and, on the other hand, it can represent rejuvenation, renewal, life, eternity and wisdom. and renounces paradise influenced by the serpent, disguised as Satan. From that moment on, the serpent indicates, in Christianity, sin, a betraying, calculating animal from the underworld associated with the devil. In Hinduism, Buddhism and Yoga, the serpent represents the vital force, healing as well as cosmic and sexual energy, associated with Kundalini (physical and spiritual energy concentrated at the base of the spine), with the backbone representing the serpent (energy) that reaches the head, bringing healing and cosmic balance. In the same way, in Shamanism, the serpent, an animal that sheds its skin is considered the devourer of diseases, and therefore, symbolizes healing, sensuality and also vitality and wisdom. The Cathedral was built from XII on.
