I took time out from my chores today to walk down to the Landmarks open house at the newly renovated Centrum Building. Quite the deluxe place and I'm guessing it will really be a favorite spot for weddings from now on. This is the chandelier in the main auditorium.

I took a walk this evening to see if the Butler Banner survived the storm the other night. Still flying high on the newly remodeled Centrum Building. Butler's roots are just a few blocks from this very corner and even though the present campus is 40 some odd streets north and a little west of here ... there is still plenty of Butler spirit in the neighborhood! 4:PM Saturday tip off.

The Old Centrum building has been deeded to Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana.

The old Central Avenue United Methodist Church under goes restoration. Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana is changing its name and its home base. The 50-year-old organization on Tuesday unveiled a new name—Indiana Landmarks—intended to better distinguish the statewide organization from other historical groups, and confirmed plans to move its 22-person headquarters staff to the former Central Avenue United Methodist Church, known since 2000 as Old Centrum.
