Teasle

Busy week and weekend and I hope to get to all my contacts photos sometime soon. I did take a short walk this evening and revisited the teasle site.

This wild flower is originally from Europe ... Teasle is listed as a noxious weed in some states. Native Americans used the heads to card wool and treated acne with a wash made by steeping the leaves. Teasel was sometimes cultivated for the spine-bracted fruiting heads which were used to raise the nap (teasing) of wool cloth.
