An old bakelite Argus twin Lens Reflex camera that takes 620 roll film. It was given to me by a friend, but it's in pretty bad condition with a few missing parts. So, I probably won't get to shoot with it.

Some mailboxes down the street from my house. This Yashica-44a is a TLR and it takes 4 cm. x 4cm. square images. From a 100 foot roll of expired Konica film, I cut down enough to make a roll. With some old backing paper, I respooled it and got 12 square images just like the original rolls used to have. I finally got to use my new Yashica-44a TLR. It was gorgeous out today, in the 70's, so I drove around my town and around the country and shot a whole roll of film in my new camera. This was the very first picture I took, a 1965 Chevy sitting in front of the local auto shop. I'm so excited because I just won an auction on eBay for a really good Yashica-44a twin lens reflex. What's good about this particular camera, is that it takes 127 film. So, the resulting negatives should be pretty good. I've read that these particular cameras take really sharp pictures. The image above is from the camera manual. I was talking to my sister the other day and telling her I wished that I had a better 127 camera than the ones I have. Basically, they're all cheap plastic or bakelite cameras with cheap plastic lenses. A 127 negative is pretty good sized, so if a person had a good camera, the negatives should turn out sharp as a tack. I went browsing through some of my links for places that sell 127 film and on one of them, they pictured a TLR camera very much like this one. That got me to looking for one and I found this Yashica.
