Found Film Salutatorian

This picture is from a roll of old film that was left unfinished in an old Kodak Instamatic 104 camera. I developed it a couple days ago. It was in an old 126 film cartridge and was Kmart brand Focal color print film. The speed of the film, 80 ASA, dates it to no later than the mid-1970s, so these pictures were probably taken in the late-1960s or early-1970s.
The images were all seriously degraded in this manner, but I could see enough to tell the styles were from that period as well. Found film that is this old very rarely turns out with good, clear results. But, it is interesting to see pictures that people took but never finished shooting the roll to find out how they turned out.
It looks like this girl was graduating from high school and was the class Salutatorian, according to the sash around her neck.

This is a Minolta version of the popular "Instamatic" 126 type of camera from years past. Of course, since it's a Minolta, it's better than any Instamatic Kodak or any other company ever made.
It's got real glass lenses, automatic exposure and you can even adjust the focus. Can your Kodak Instamatic X-15 do that? Mine sure can't.
126 Cousins

These were my cousins, Geoffrey, Deonna and Yvonne, (Dad's brother Deon's kids) when they were visiting where I worked at a Pizza Hut restaurant. I happened to have my trusty Agfa 126 Instamatic camera and snapped a few shots. This was taken 34 years ago.
Where does the time go?

Kodak Instamatic X-15 Guts
06 Jul 2016 |
|
This is what the insides of my new Kodak Instamatic X-15 looks like - you can see the chamber where the 126 cartridge fits in. (Not that I needed a fourth X-15!) What's significant about that is I picked this up from an online auction and it also included an old, expired roll of 126 film that had never been opened! Now I will have a 126 cartridge to play with and reload with 35mm film. And that means I can shoot with some of my old 126 cameras that I haven't been able to use yet. For some reason, there are 14 126 cameras in my collection.
