I saw Dennis Tufano, the original lead singer of The Buckinghams, sing this song in concert this past Saturday night down in Jackson, Tennessee. The Buckinghams were out of Chicago, which is in the state I live in and they got their name in the mid-1960's from Buckingham Fountain in Chicago because it sounded "British." It was in the first rush of the "British Invasion," so go figure! I've see Dennis down at those Caravan of Stars concerts at 6 different occasions now. He always puts on a great show. This is one of the 45 r.p.m. records in my collections. Next time I see him, I should get him to autograph it. I'm probably revealing my age group by posting this - ha ha!

This past Saturday night, I was able to see the original lead singer/drummer of Rare Earth in concert not too far from where I live. The Caravan of Stars 31 concert was held in Jackson, Tennessee, about 4 and a half hours from my house, so it's a great little weekend trip. The radio station that holds these concerts, KOOL 103 has a tie-in with a local hotel and you get a great rate by booking there. Plus, all the stars stay there, too! Peter Rivera was the original drummer, who also sang lead for the group and he is still one of the most powerful drummers and vocalists in rock and roll today - he got the crowd to dancing and singing along. Even I had to sing along when he had the crowd to sing to "I Just Want To Celebrate." This is one of the 45 r.p.m. records in my collections. Next time I see him, I should get him to autograph it.
