Die Holzpfähle auf diesem Foto sind eine Erinnerung an das alte Zentrum von Petten, das sich hier befand und bereits vor mehreren hundert Jahren bei einem schweren Sturm zerstört wurde. Das Foto sowie die PIPs hat meine Frau aufgenommen, während ich die Zeit auf der Schaukel vertrieben habe.

The dunes here were artificially built as part of a huge flood protection project between 2013 and 2015 ( de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sand_gegen_Meer ). In the background at the left you can see a large panorama dune from which you have a wonderful view of the surroundings.

This photo was taken at the dunes of Petten , a town at the North Sea in North Holland that belongs to the municipality of Schagen . The dunes here were artificially built as part of a huge flood protection project between 2013 and 2015 ( de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sand_gegen_Meer ). In the background you can see a large panorama dune from which you have a wonderful view of the surroundings. PIP: The wooden piles shown in the PIP are reminiscent of the old centre of Petten that was destroyed by a severe storm surge several centuries ago. They are located on the beach only few meters away from the place where the main photo was taken.
