This is the North of Scotland at Staxigoe Harbour on the Caithness east coast.
The name comes from the Norse "the inlet of the stack",
I now have the PC back up and running, but have as yet to get all my images loaded. So I continue to work from the recent archives.

The North Sea can be fearsome so even small well sheltered harbours like here at Latheronwheel has a need to slow down the waves, this is one of a pair of walls that guard the entrance,
The eroded cliff to the right of the stack bear testimony to the power of the sea,
