An image resurrected from the archives (2013) in response to a memory jog by Keith
This is the view of the Sound of Mull from MaCaig's Tower, Oban which can be seen in the previous image.
The calmac ferry Isle of Mull is passing the island of Kerrera on the left and St Columba's Cathedral on the right as it enters Oban Bay.
Full screen is probably best

The white light from this lighthouse has a range of 8 nautical miles while the red and white light on the left is on the end of Kerrera island and if viewed large the Isle of Lismore lighthouse can be seen just in front of the Calmac ferry "Isle of Mull" as it turns to enter Oban Bay.
The Island of Mull forms a backdrop on the left with the Isle Lismore on the right and beyond that the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
On black please,
