Autumn on the Mendip Hills at Ubley Warren. The rough and uneven ground is a result of lead workings which started during the Iron Age and carried on during the Roman occupation of Britain when mining activity significantly increased. Mining continued until the late 19th Century. In 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated.
