The calm waters of the Crinan Basin and Sea lock beyond the gates at the western end of the Crinan Canal,
This is a nine-mile-long (14 km) navigable canal in Argyll and Bute, west of Scotland. It opened in 1801 and connects the village of Ardrishaig on Loch Gilp with Crinan on the Sound of Jura and avoids the sometimes turbulent waters around the Mull of Kintyre,

Davaar Island Light

A fence with a view of the Lighthouse on Davaar Island at the entrance to Cambeltown Loch, Davaar is only an Island at high tide reachable by a shingle causeway called the Doìrlinn at other times,
The lighthouse which is 20 meters high was constructed in 1857 and the light has a range of 15 nautical miles. It sits at an elevation of 37 meters
Image shot in 16.9 therefore a large view is recommended, HFF and a good weekend!

Campbeltown Harbour, Kintyre, Fences and colour from the boats in the harbour to the gorse on the hillsides,

West Quay, Bridgwater, The Fountain Inn, (note the date at the top), next building for many years had a dance venue on the first floor, the sign built into the brickwork lists it as the "Fisherman's Wharf" but known locally as "Oddfellows Hall" further down the green building was another pub "Kings Head"
Merchant ships tied up on both sides of the river and steps for access can be seen built into the wall!

The Lighthouse on the end of the breakwater at Ardrishaig, Lock Gilp, Argyll and Bute, Scotland
This breakwater shelters the eastern end of the Crinan Canal which flows coast to coast saving the long and dangerous trip around the Mull of Kintyre,
Loch Gilp itself is an offshoot on the western side of the much larger Loch Fyne,

With the dramatic Island of Arran as a backdrop these lovely ladies were taking a lunch break on the quayside at Carradale, which is the eastern side of the Kintyre peninsula, They spent a while chatting with my wife and were happy for us to take photographs,
This is 16.9 format so a large view would be appreciated. HBM and a nice week ahead!

The ruined Carnasserie Castle looks down across the landscape from it's high vantage point, also with commanding views over the southern approach to Loch Awe. This 16th-century tower house held an envious position!

Early May and the planters wait for their spring flowers, while holiday makers stroll the promanade and enjoy the early season sunshine,
A few drinkers at the Reeds Arms one of J D Weatherspoons many public houses.

The bird may take a little finding but the bright orange beak should give it away quite easily,
Fence and harbour wall at Ardrishaig on Loch Gilp, Scotland. 16.9 format so a large view may be beneficial !

Bridgwater Bay at Burnham On Sea on a warm May evening, the late tide has receded leaving wet sand and water pools. while the lights from the countries shortest pier provide long shadows that illuminate the sea wall and battered fencing,
The Victorian style Pier, Built 1914 , 121 feet or 37 meters long.
HFF and a great weekend ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Large if you prefer!

A bright day in mid-May with thin cloud cover and strong but patchy sunlight,
The fast flowing watercourse is tumbling down to a culvert which will carry under Duke's Pass and into Loch Achrey
