An image from 2011 showing Stac Pollaidh, often called Stac Polly, The English translation, Is "The pinnacle of pool river" it has a height 612m (2008ft) The rocky crest is of Torridon sandstone and is a nunatak, (the ridge was above the ice during the last Ice age) which is why the sides are smooth, and the ridge has many pinnacles.
