For over six centuries, The church of St Mary the Virgin, has been the focal point of the village of Stogumber, The tower which was begun in the fourteenth century, is built of red sandstone, but differing styles indicate church extensions over the years!
Stogumber is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England, on the eastern flank of the Brendon Hills. It also has a station on the West Somerset Railway.
A large view for detail!

The town end of the large harbour at Girvan, South Ayshire, showing the trawler Argonaut on the shipyard slipway, and the RNLI lifeboat mooring center of image.
The spire on the left is the North Parish Church and the right hand tower is Stumpy Jail, it was built in 1827. It has survived 2 World Wars and is still standing as a tribute to the craftsmanship of its Victorian Builders.
In 16.9 format therefor a large view will probably be required for detail, HFF and a good weekend.

The Dovecote and a small part of the extensive ruins, of Dunure Castle, which sits high on a cliff above the South Ayrshire Coast
These ruins were part of the castle built in the 15th and 16 century, which replaced an older castle on this same site, it has been ruins for around 300years,
The large Dovecote was well maintained and stocked as a good source of fresh food and feathers, plus a large Dovecote was also a major status symbol.
HFF and a good weekend,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, a large view for clarity and detail perhaps!

The late 14th century tower of the Church of St Andrews, Burnham on Sea is a grade one listed building It is reputed that a plumb line dropped from the north side of the 78ft high tower is 3 feet from the building at the base, Image taken as the December Sun sets across Bridgwater Bay. Building the church on sand dunes is the most likely reason for the settlement.
