Back to the archives again, From a standing start at Bishop's Lydeard and emerging from under the road bridge before starting the climb up to Crocombe Heathfield Station, (The station stands at the highest point on the line, just under 400 feet (120 m) above sea level, approached by a 1:86 gradient either side) The locomotive is Ex GWR 2-8-0 2857, West Somerset Railway westbound passenger service, I prefer the image large Good weekend to all.

Running down from the shed and passing the water tower to reverse onto its train at Platform 2, Bishops Lydeard on the West Somerset Railway, This locomotive has been converted from a 2-6-2 tank engine and has proved to be an admirable performer and very well suited to the line.
