VGA Lead 0617 2251

I needed a longer VGA cable so I took two leads from old CRT monitors and worked out how they needed to be joined. I then soldered the wires insulating each joint with heatshrink sleeving. A larger diameter sleeve was put over the joints and then for additional protection was wrapped in a tape usually used for sealing antenna cable connections on radio towers. A loop was made and the same tape secured it to prevent straining the soldered joints. June 2017.

2M antenna 0113

08 Jan 2013 310
The TV antenna was removed. Faults in its feeder matching were repaired and the antenna placed in the roof space. Above the roof is now fully available for non-bludging antennas. This 2m antenna is constructed from a dexion bracket recovered from a telecoms site ~30 yrs ago, a mobile base even older. The vertical is the screw-on part of an analogue mobile whip and the whip is zinc -plated steel wire found while out walking. The ground plane is galvanised wire from a coathanger. The feeder is an RG59 equivalent from a disposal source.
