I decided to repost some of the photos I deleted when the site looked as if it was going under. The Guildhall was completed in 1413, and housed the city offices from then till 1938. This is square knapped flintwork with stone trim. It is the costliest form of flintwork, so probably was used to make the building more impressive. The flintwork dates from 1534, when the Guildhall was rebuilt after the roof of the council chamber collapsed..
