Cut-paper collage postcard created for Kollage Kit theme: "Psychedelic." The January issue of American Laboratory magazine had a photomicrograph taken under polarized light on its cover. I don't know what exactly it was a picture of, because they're having a "guess what chemical" contest: they said it was a carcinogen that's been used in the manufacture of dyes. I chopped up the image and layered part of it on top of itself. The phrase "Better Living Through Chemistry" is a variant of a DuPont advertising slogan, "Better Things for Better Living...Through Chemistry." It was their slogan from 1935 to 1982. According to Wikipedia, "This statement is used for commentary on several different topics, from the promotion of prescription or recreational drugs, to the praise of chemicals and plastics, to the sarcastic criticism of the same." It's also the title of a superb album by Fatboy Slim.
