For the swapbot "Doodle Postcard Letter G," I combined two things: a purple Godzilla (because my recipient's favorite color was purple) and greenery inspired by Henri Rousseau. (That's why the trees are so weird-looking.) I drew the Godzilla not from a movie image, but from a beloved plastic model I bought at Forbidden Planet in New York City. P.S. The swap challenge was to make a "personalized" postcard--one based on the person's profile. Cristen likes the poet e. e. cummings and the color purple, so I made her an oversized postcard w/ an e. e. cummings quote, from "as freedom is a breakfastfood," framed in different shades of purple. I made the paper for the frame by taking cream-colored cardstock, wetting it, balling it up, and abusing it, then laying it out in strips to dry, then coloring it w/ Prismacolor markers. The quotation was written with a Zig calligraphy marker.
