The woman is from a painting by Artemisia Gentileschi. The furry critter is a dormouse.

Cut-paper collage postcard. Don't worry: this wasn't prompted by anything in my personal life, just by the fact that these Charles Rennie Mackintosh chairs are facing in opposite directions. The background is from a series of 1948 Texas highway maps.

Between the title and the imagery, this one's probably over-obvious. The thing is, I'm not very good at being subtle. Maddeningly oblique, perhaps...but not subtle. I don't know who photographed the Minotaur. The spider web is a tattoo on a dried-out piece of human skin. The arrows are a rubber stamp. The labyrinth, of course, is New York City.

I thought I'd try doing a 3-dimensional collage, for the I&PA swap-bot challenge "Mail Art #2--Empty": the background of the collage, wrapped all around the box, is a map of the territory in Montana where the Battle of Little Big Horn took place. Layered over that are clippings about Custer, the Native Americans, death, aggression, body parts, man's inhumanity to man, etc. (It's not subtle. =laugh=) The box is weighted, on the inside, with 2 pieces of fiberboard, so that it weighs a little under 2 1/2 pounds.
