Besaw Island, Egypt
The inhabitants of this island are predominantly farmers or fishermen.
Sunday Challenge: facade
Although this is a very simple facade compared to the magnificent temples that we visited in Egypt, the image appealed to me as a result of its simplicity, the matching blue of the window shutters and the man's headwear and the mysterious palm print on the wall.

Balbanera Church, founded in 1534, was the first Catholic Church to be built in Ecuador. It was destroyed in the earthquake of 1797, but was reconstructed.

A portion of the facade of the Catedral Riobamba in Riombamba, Ecaudor was constructed from the remains of the original cathedral that was destroyed by the earthquake of 1797.

Palace of the Winds

The Hawa Mahal or Palace of the Winds was constructed in 1799 in Jaipur, India out of pink sandstone, lime and mortar. Five stories high, yet only one room wide, its purpose was to allow the sequestered ladies of the court to view the outside world through screened windows.
