Wary eyes

"Chefchaouen is situated in the Rif Mountains, just inland from Tangier and Tetouan. The city was founded in 1471, as a small fortress which still exists to this day, by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa Ben Rached El Alami (a descendant of Ibn Machich and Idris I, and through them, of the Islamic prophet Muhammad) to fight the Portuguese invasions of northern Morocco. Along with the Ghomara tribes of the region, many Moriscos and Jews settled here after the Spanish Reconquista in medieval times. In 1920, the Spanish seized Chefchaouen to form part of Spanish Morocco. Spanish troops imprisoned Abd el-Krim in the kasbah from 1916 to 1917, after he talked with the German consul Dr. Walter Zechlin (1879–1962). (After defeating him with the help of the French, Abd el-Krim was deported to Réunion in 1926.) Spain returned the city after the independence of Morocco in 1956." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chefchaouen AIMG 8084

Cold nights

At 9035 feet (2754 meters) above sea level, evenings in Riombata, Ecaudor can be quite cold. Pickup trucks with people huddled in the back were common sights. AIMG 9830

Impassable

13 Feb 2013 257
This street was plowed during the night but at least a foot of snow fell since the last plow truck came by. The blizzard of February 8-9, 2013 dumped two feet of snow in Massachusetts with drifts even higher. It was the 5th worst storm in the history of Boston. The wind was blowing sideways for awhile and left the sides of trees and houses covered with snow. AIMG_2133

You only told me to shovel the driveway

This homeowner did a magnificent job of shoveling his driveway but seemed to have forgotten to shovel his car. No matter - there was a two day ban on non-emergency driving to allow municipalities to deal with the snow.
